Out of interest I tried the BT checker, its not very reliable is it. I have a BT line thats been in for some 20years it said there wasnt one or it was too new for have it recorded. It said ASDL+ was due February 2012, well its moved from October this year, to Feb 2012, to March and now June on other BT sites. It said my current line speed was up to 2Mb and with + up to 2,5Mb. But I am currently on just under 5Mb. Is there any reliable information given on it?

This may be linked to RIchmond Councillors objecting to any cabinets in the borough. Suggest an equiry to your local councillor and planning department, possibly followed by one to the local paper!

Nah that's all been settled now, was a big planning meeting a while ago where approval was given for nearly all of BT's planning requests, including my own PCP.

Yep. 17a profile too.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 28.9Mbps and upstream line speed of 11.5Mbps.

That doesn't indicate 17a, a 40/15 product has been released on 8c.

Without checking back through everything, I thought the 40/15 product had been withdrawn by Openreach for anything except current live connections? As previously my upload estimate was well under 10Mbps I would be fairly certain I am now on 17a. I don't intend to flash my modem to find out smile.

My exchange is among the new rollouts but for dec 2012, yet when i go to Bt checker i get this report and have been getting it for 6 months or so.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed between 30.3 to 32.5 Mbps and upstream line speed between 11 to 11.7 Mbps.

That type of estimate is normal for anywhere that is scheduled or live for FTTC. Daft wording, but "there it is" frown.

Friends in other towns around the UK - the same, and other posters here.
