Yup gone for me as well. BTw are a bunch of muppets. Oh well it's not like I need a faster connection but I hate being mucked about.

Yep it looks like this morning was a database screwup. One of my friends (in sussex) tried to order, and the online chat on BT Infinity's page popped up and the person the other end confirmed the data was wrong and he can't get it. His exchange isn't even FTTC enabled yet (due April 2012 on samknows).

At least mine should be possible - people near me have FTTC, just we don't frown

James - be* pro - on THFB - sync about 17.2mbps - BQM

That sucks.

My order was accepted by IDNet so it remains to be seen. They say they are a bit short-staffed at the moment so hopefully it'll just be rejected on Monday. I hope it isn't currently part way through BT's systems because they have a habit of just cancelling every service on a line and starting over.

Quite useless from as big an organisation as BT, you'd think they'd have testing and staging servers before database changes were visible externally.

Eek, hope that IDnet catch it.

I'm hoping we will get FTTC eventually, but if BTOR were able to say "no, we can't ever service your property" would be ok - I'd sign up to VM's 100mbps service. Due to latency issues here its inferior to an FTTC service but it is higher bandwidth upload than my ADSL2+.

Well there has been some changes... a friend who's connected to the same exchange but different cab has had his FTTC message reappear with a new date set to 31st March 2012.

In my case the FTTC message is still missing. Could this be due to the power being connected up next week? (Power planning shows it starts today and ends on the 22nd Dec)

Bobby valentino it has updated again - now saying March 2012 as expected!

Knew last night was too good to be true.

Must be blocked ducts to my cab - otherwise i would have thought they would not bother anymore and say on the checker that its not due to have FTTC.

The checker has now dropped the FTTC paragraph again for numbers near me - anyone else?

Yep, here too - yesterday morning I was being given the choice to order FTTC, then it went away and now it says 'by 31st March 2012' though I would expect it to be sooner as I have seen a number of cab's go in over the last month.

Interestingly, the BT checker for my o2 llu line has also changed for ADSL2+ as well.

It previously said ''your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 6Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 5Mbps and 7Mbps'.

It now states 'your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 8Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 6.5Mbps and 14Mbps.'!

Has this happened to anyone else? I wonder why the sudden change?

I did try restarting my router but am still getting between 5.5 and 6Mbps... :/

It's unlikely that restarting your router would have any effect. Changes reported by the wholesale checker relate to major upgrades and you usually have to talk to your ISP - and most likely pay extra - in order to be moved onto a different package.

I think it's very unlikely that a)your line would suddenly be improved or b)that the wholesale checker would report the fact.

Lol, yeah mine has changed. Now it's just confusing:

"Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st March 2012. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 33.3Mbps and upstream line speed of 12.6Mbps."

Its an ADSL 2+ LLU line so the speed should be the best available anyway but you are right that its a 'surprise' that that the line checker seems to think the quality of the line has increased so much..

No idea why.. thats why I was asking if others had ever seen the same thing? Could be an error (as my sync speeds haven't changed) and/or BT have fiddled with something else while installing FTTC locally..
