I'll see what I can find out, but I suspect that is just the copper link. The main issue with be power, as it's all overhead power along that road, so they will have to feed the power from the top of an existing nearby telegraph pole to the Fibre cab.

I stand to be corrected.

I managed to speak with the Telent guys who are contractors for Openreach and they advised that they have been busy installing the power to cabs 1 (delph), 10 (denshaw) and 17 (delph). Sire enough I took a drive to the denshaw cab and I can see the trench they've dug from the overhead power pole to the fttc cab.

I thought this picture http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2l975ty&s=5 was a BT junction box with copper but I now find out it's the power! Can anyone confirm this undergroung joint is power?

Is it the power or bt copper junction though?

Yes, that is definitely the power feed tapped off a distribution cable.

That's the best news I've heard all week - it showing a particular date is very positive!

Saying that our cab (1) is still showing the default 31st March

It looks like cab 10 and cab 17 are indeed planned for the 20th Feb. Cab 17 is on the corner of Hill End Road/High Street in Delph, and covers from Delph up to where cab 10 reaches to, so at least north Delph and all of Denshaw will benefit

Not that I'm holding out much hope but Openreach van parked up near Cab 11 in Diggle twice this week.

Suspect just routine work but who knows.
