If there is no phase shown against the Cab it means that it is unlikely to be planned when the exchange is enabled. It will be in a later phase so you are unlikely to get FTTC in Mar 2012. This is why the checker does not show it against your line.

I am surprised there is no phase against the OPs cab yet he has a date and it shows against his line. So the above is not foolproof (BR proof!).

Only time will tell.

I'd actually located Cabinet 16 a couple of days ago. I was unaware that I might be connected to a cabinet the other side of the exchange.

My guess is, that when they built the new housing estate where I live, that they must have connected everyone to the nearest cabinet which happened to be the other side of the exchange.

The only issue I have now is that the BTWholesale site list Raunds exchange with a date of March 2012, and the Infinity map says June 2012 (but my phone number into the infinity number checker shows March 2012). Go figure.

I'm curious. Openreach laid the cables at the end of December - I spoke to a couple of the guys while they were doing it, to confirm that's what they were doing.

What sort of time scale is normally between cable laying & going live? I'm guessing a few months?

It depends on the order they do things in, and whether problems get in the way.

Power used to be more of an issue - it used to be a couple of months after the cabinet (without problems) and maybe 6 months (with). In the last results, BT said they were improving those times.

The fibre itself could be either before or after the cabinet.

And, of course, the head-end of the fibre, the exchange, could be any time relative to individual cabinets.
