I've got two more FTTC lines going in tomorrow/Wednesday, so will also be (MLPPP) bonding the lines to see if we can get over 100Mb

What speeds did your lines get before fibre?

Around 4-5 Mb but they were so unstable it sucked. We've gone from 4Mb to 75Mb in two days laugh

We now have 3 FTTC lines installed.

2 are on 80/20 and 1 is on 40/10.

We're testing the (MLPPP) bonding of the 2 x 80/20 lines and at present are just scraping 100Mb downstream and 30Mb upstream throughput:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1818623063.png

The attainable rate has dropped since all 3 lines have been installed, evidence of some form of crosstalk etc, but on the 80/20 lines it still shows:

Downstream Upstream
Attainable rate (kbit/s) 129948 41437
SNR margin (dB) 19.9 19.6
Line rate (kbit/s) 79999 20000

Looks like you're losing an awful lot of throughput somewhere along the line?

Keep on like that James, and you'll be able to offer ethernet and wireless connections to local customers.

Yeah, it could be that the box we're using as the router to bond the lines could be struggling (even though its a Linux PC so decent spec, with gigabit cards inside)... as it won't creep above the 100Mb mark.

Either that of or the speedtest isn't coping.

May only allocate 100Mb to a test at max.

speedtest.net should handle near 1gbit/sec - although I guess it depends on which server you're testing against?

Nice roughly half my line attenuation 100 meter line?

I think crosstalk will in time chop some of that max rate down, but hey there is plenty of it laugh
