The standard provision of a second line to you would be via a spare pair in your existing wire.

Not been following this thread closely, but just for information..

You can request a completely new line from bt, and not use the spare pair coming from an existing line, even if that new line comes from a different cabinet. (ie: you can order new copper).

Thanks for that info. The thing is the poster would still need to get it from the cabinet somehow, as his existing one appears to be exchange-conencted.
