Hi Kris, I'm in Ashington too, any sign of any work on the cabinet you are connected to? I'm cabinet 13 and there has been no movement at all.

The commercial 66% deployment is the mainly urban part of the UK, 90% of the people in the UK live in what is defined as an urban area

The two main targets were to have passed 40% of premises by end 2012 (now achieved), and 66% by 2014 (was originally 2015). The 90% figure was discussed in the context of what may be possible if all/most BDUK money was "won", and then mathed.

My cabinet is on first avenue and has had a FTTC cabinet installed and connected to the power grid. Haven't seen much in way of fibre being installed in the town yet though. There are trenches on Hawthorn Road which were dug in the last week, presumably to clear blocked ducts.

There are fibre cabinets on the main street, near the college shops and also at the junction into North Seaton (Canterbury close)

And I have been monitoring ELGIN for some time and there has been a significant number of BT roadworks in the North Seaton area. I would have thought that PCP13 would have been done. The December spreadsheet does indicate that it doesnt cover many post codes and some of the post codes are only having part of the enabled but that is probably because the same street is served by two CABs.

I am on PCP55 which seems to be completed in very little time (plonked on the grass and connected to the CAB and mains within a fortnight.

BT roadworks started and due to last a fortnight or so in a few areas which I assume is to clear blocked ducts. BT has also commenced roadworks on Choppington Lane which has been live for ages on the Bedlington exchange - is this provisioning the Ashington exchange from Bedlingtos?

I'm in North Seaton Village so if they have done cabs on the other side of North Seaton they might have just not made it over to the other side yet. Fingers crossed anyhow.

Well they have been busy at Newbiggin which I assume is on the Ashington exchange for some time now and can see no real reason why North Seaton village should have been missed out - are you sure there isnt a new CAB hidden somewhere? Beside us an existing CAB on the grass beside the main road has its FTTC friend hidden just inside the estate that it serves.

According to their Twitter feed Blyth has gone live today and that was running at about the same schedule.

Newbiggin is covered by the Ashington exchange.

Also as part of the rollout they're covering cabs on neighbouring exchanges that weren't originally done, for example pegswood is being done (it's on Morpeth exchange)

So they do "intend" to do it! Of course when the exchange is ready for service I dont suppose they would enable all the CABs on the same day even if they are ready owing to the volume of orders they would get, each requiring an engineer visit!

Are you sure there isnt a new CAB hidden away or is there a shortage of space to put the new one?

They are good at hiding them!
