@kasg, in fact the file you uploaded in this post ( http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/t/4124658-re-... ) contains the SP10unlocked002 firmware.

The file I uploaded was hg612_unlocked_sp10_firmware.zip (it's still there) - again, I can't see where this "unlocked002" comes from.

It's contained in the ZIP file I download from your post, see this image http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/Ronskiman/Co...

Edit: It's a shame the PDF instructions don't mention which version to use and make it clear.
But on the website you see 3 links on the right-hand side:
Instructions for unlocking the Huawei HG612

Unlocked Firmware Images for Huawei HG612

Original Firmware Images for Huawei HG612
Looks pretty clear to me.

and here's the web page I get when I click the link for unlocked firmware

http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/Ronskiman/Co...

and when I click the SP10 link on the left I get this

http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/Ronskiman/Co...

Can't understand why you can't see it, the file is called bcm96368MVWG_fs_kernel_HG612V100R001C01B028SP10unlocked002

For some reason the page doesn't seem to display quite correctly, but that shouldn't affect the files that are downloaded. Asbokid, some times when you've done something yourself thing that appear obvious are not always obvious to someone else.

Got to go, wifes giving me grief!

Oh OK, I just didn't look at the very end of the file name, but as one file was contained in a folder called "original..." and the other in a folder called "unlocked..." it seemed pretty straightforward; either way there's only one zip file to download.

I see what you mean as well. The 002 file is indeed the one, if you read the full pathname. I never spotted that when I did it.

Thats the funny thing, when accessing via google docs, I don't get an option to download the zip. It opens the Zip within Google Docs, and then half the web page seems obscured/not displaying correctly in either firefox or IE.

Anyway, at least I know I am using the correct firmware file, thanks.

There's an option under Maintenance:Device:Configuration File to download the configuration file, but it's grayed out. Is there any way to enable this so I can back it up prior to and after changing settings?

Yup, that's the one! It is the unlocked firmware image for all hardware revisions of the HG612 released to date (06/12).

The zip file - hg612_unlocked_sp10_firmware.zip (7,783,934 bytes) contains the following:

hg612_unlock_instructions_v1.3.pdf

Google Drive (relaunch of Google Docs) still isn't very intuitive. However, there is a download option. It is found under the pull-down File menu.. See screenshot: picturepush.com/..hg612-..fw..link-screenshot..

Thanks for clarifying that, it seems that Google Docs was not displaying correctly, I tried both IE 9 and Firefox 12, and this is what I got http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv87/Ronskiman/Co...

Notice the lack of the menu buttons top left, and the oddly coloured lower section of the screen, it displays correctly this morning though.

The MD5 checksum matches, thanks.
