Interleaving being switched OFF also causes gaps in some of the graphs, but increases "other" errors at the same time.

When Interleaving is switched back ON again, the gaps disappear & "other" errors decrease again.

It's also worth noting that the scale of the graphs can mask some errors.

e.g. when errors have been in the millions, a few thousand at a time can be "hidden", even though they may still be excessive numbers.

But surely interleaving depth doesn't get adjusted (switched off) until the modem is re-synced? If that's the case then it wouldn't explain the gaps in the RSCorr graph. The RS graph, like the OP's, would indicate that interleaving is on even when the gaps are present in the RSCorr graph.

Yeah I think my interleaving is staying on, the noise keeps coming and going however.

Maybe to to with moisture & if there has been any electrical current over the bad joint. I dont have a phone so it doesnt get any use.

When a BT guy gives it a blast with the JDSU the noise goes away for a good while.

I might have to stick a megga on the line and give it a blast of 1000v every morning. That may keep the noise at bay, maybe no a great idea for anybody working in the pcp though!

Yes, that's very true.

I was just making a passing comment that there could also be other causes for gaps in some graphs, including the RS graph, not meant in connection with this particular case though.
