Maybe it is to stop people using other routers.

That doesn't sound like Sky at all. wink

I have my Sky fibre install tomorrow (should have been today except there was a hiccup with my order) and I'll finally get a chance to try out the beta firmware on my BiPAC 8200N which hopefully works with Sky's variant of MER. smile

Bear in mind that the DLM in the cabinet keeps a close eye on things for the first 2-3 days. If you upset it an engineer will be required.

I'm going to test it in EWAN mode first for a few days because it will give me a chance to set up all my port forwarding etc.

I'd also vouch for the Fritz!Boz 7390, yes it is expensive but it has so many useful functions.
Prior to the latest firmware there was an issue with Caller Identification on connected telephones when used on VDSL2 but this is fixed.
