hiya did allpay come today what speed have u gone for

Up and running, gone for the five megabits for a bit, easy enough to change to the ten. Poor bloke was on the roof in the pouring rain.

Seems ok at the moment, Netflix is certainly better.

Got other problems now with computer, it keeps losing it hard drives and then giving me a bluescreen

Anyone seen any cabs starting to be installed? Great to see all the first wave cabs are south side!!!

I wonder how many people will go for them? I been chatting to a lot of people that are happy with the speed they are getting and got no intention of paying extra for fibre. Saying that I also know of some people who will pay the extra, but more that will not bother.

BTopenreach is finding it difficult to get people changing to fibre as a lot just don't think the extra cost is worth it.

I, as a hardcore gamer/downloaded will definatly be going for fibre, as I'm sure most of the people in hereford who can't achieve speeds of above 2-3mb will.

I will be first in the queue - will take me from 3Mbs to 50Mbs well worth it. Won't be using BT as the ISP though.

Where does this information come from? The cost is not that much more than the "up to" speeds currently used.plus when you consider the set up costs of all pay, the monthly net cost is very similar.

I wish TBB would stop this anonymous thing and force people to register like any other forums, it gets confusing.

anyway, back on topic.

I have seen statements from Bt openreach saying that they are not getting the amount of people going to fibre that they thought would, certain where people have already got a good speed, like what is the point of paying extra if you already got a good speed?

sure if you got a family and lots of devices then it may be worth while. Cost wise it is not the same, it is a extra tenner if you are with Talk Talk, it also cost more with Sky and BT.

If I went to fibre on ADSl24, it would cost me more and I would get less apart from higher speed.

Sure many people will go for fibre because it is faster, but do they really need it? a mate of mine gets 16megabits and deciding if he should go for fibre or not.

i won't be now as I now got a 2 year contract with All pay and to be honest I am happy with what I got, i am further away from BT network and once i get rid of my phone that will be me off any Bt network.

Allensmore is a few miles out, not sure when they will put fibre out there, I know people living all around the city and yes some get good speeds, others get naff speeds, some times it is where they live and other times it is their ISP that is the problem.

example, A mate lives just in Cottrell Street and gets more thean 15 megabits, using Vivaciti on the Cable and wireless network and yet someone around the corner gets 8 with Talk Talk. In thoery they should get a better service as they are closer to the exchange.

My brother around Hunderton gets 4megabits with the post office, or he did, not sure what he will get when they change to Talk Talk equipment. someone else I know that lives pretty close to him gets 2 with Sky.

My next door neighbour gets 1.5 with BT, I had 3.5 with ADSL24 using the Cable and Wireless network.

What Tescos do your friend live by?

Don't get me wrong fibre is a good thing, I am sure many people will go for it, but many will not, certainly not if they got a good ADSL speed as they may feel it is not worth the extra cost.

I admit I am not like a lot of people, most people don't care who supplies their service, other wise there would not be as many people with Sky TV. Myself i just want to get as far away from BT as I can at the moment. i know my phone and my broadband was not with Bt, but their network still comes to my house.

Maybe in a couple of years time I may go for fibre, but hopefully by that time All pay will have faster speeds at prices to compete with fibre. If it was all about money then I would stay as I was as paying £100 to install the broadband, plus other costs for new router did not come lightly I can tell you. also to get 10 megabits it will cost me £29 a month, about the cost of fibre, but I will not be paying line rental so that willl be a good thing.

If you can afford it why wouldn't you get it, I, for one, will be getting it for the faster upload speed, then again I'm probably in the minority since I will be using to stream live footage of gaming and uploading big files (1 gig and up) to servers, for example high definition rendered videos. Sure a lot of people are happy with 15mb but if you can get 60mb download then why not, if it's not a strain on your budget.
