As I read him he means have two, or even three PCs connected to the router, with one or two of them streaming direct from somewhere out there. Nothing to do with your inhouse server or LAN. Then do the speed tests on the remaining machine and see if they stay the same, or fall off due to the others using bandwidth.
It looks like all machines are sharing the same bandwidth to me.

Showing 42/14 on that test.

Also showing the same speed this morning on speedtest.net and also the same on the test on this site.
Something has changed as on this site I was only showing 5mb on every test.

my line also reset this morning

# xdslcmd info --state
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime
Retrain Reason: 2
Max: Upstream rate = 25143 Kbps, Downstream rate = 75944 Kbps
Path: 0, Upstream rate = 20000 Kbps, Downstream rate = 66576 Kbps

Interleaving depth is now showing @ > 1000 and ping response to the early BT hops has gone from 6ms to 15ms

87x series struggle with FTTC over 15-20Mbps.
You'll need an 1800 or 880 series to get up to the 40Mbps mark at least.

Do a show proc cpu hist and you'll see why.

Doesn't explain why you're getting low results using the HH though.

Why and where is te proof?

It is rated as a fast Ethernet device with 100Mb capability so should work without issues. And why with FTTC - it does not know what service it is connected to as the WAN input is a 100Mbps Ethernet.

Just because the ports are 100mb on the router doesn't mean it has the grunt to fill the line.

A lot will depend on how complex the config is / what you are asking it to do.
With my tests this morning I am now getting ~ 42mb after my line reset this morning and the router processor is hitting approx 80%

I was unable to unlock my modem this morning. No idea why. I followed the instructions, the router rebooted and it was still locked.

Can you run some continuous trace routes? I'm seeing 20% to 30% packet loss on the first router outside my network (which is one that belongs to my ISP).

Everything looks good now:
http://speedtest.net/result/2038824942.png

Even TBB is looking good apart from the infamous upload figure:
My Broadband Speed Test

..best downstream ever from TBB. 1GB test file comes in at 7.8MB/s. Quite shocking in one respect - I could burn through my peak allowance for the month in 15 minutes. Good job peak time doesn't start until 9am smile
