Re: FTTC in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs

You'll never guess what I saw at the Broadway traffic lights in Broadstairs tonight.........................yep men feeding tubing into the ducts, and that tubing was black with a yellow line along it, now thats got to be for the fibre optics to later be blown through.

I've also confirmed two more cabinets installed NDRAM 10 and NDBRO 4, not many left outstanding now smile

Outstanding cabinets, either not installed or unconfirmed:

NDTHA 8
NDTHA 17
NDRAM 1
NDRAM 21
NDRAM 38
NDRAM 41

Just checked Ramsgate and Broadstairs, no new live cabinets to report, but loads of cabinets are now giving speed estimates, even Broadstairs cabinets.

All the ones with speed estimates state

Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 30th June 2012

Wonder if any will go live over the weekend, don't know if RJH321 has seen the same with Margate cabinets.

When the cab I'm connected to started giving speed estimates it was a couple of weeks before it finally went live.

The BT checker gave me FTTC speed estimates as far back as Dec 2010. My cabinet was physically installed last Monday - and I'm still waiting to be able to order.

Just one cabinet showed a speed estimate on my regular check this morning of all outstanding Margate cabinets - NDTHA 29 with a date of 30th September.

My Broadband Speed Test

Looking forward to a speed increase!

This is apparently 'normal' before they go live (or at least what I have read across the FTTC forum).

Just been made aware on the forums that NDRAM 35 is also live, the address I had been using was returning no FTTC info, so did another one I tried, but the third one gave FTTC as being live, as did a few others.

So current known live cabinets:

NDTHA2
NDTHA4
NDTHA7
NDTHA9
NDTHA15
NDTHA16
NDTHA20
NDTHA28
NDTHA30
NDTHA42

NDRAM4
NDRAM14
NDRAM23
NDRAM33
NDRAM34
NDRAM35
NDRAM50
NDRAM51
NDRAM55

Hey, thank you very much for all the information! I've worked out that i'm closest to NDTHA45, but it is obviously not on the list. Is there a way for me to find out when that cabinet will be upgraded and somewhere for me to voice my early interest with the powers that be.

My expertise with anything more technical than setting up an OS is very limited so go easy tongue

No need to voice your concerns, the cabinet is installed and should be going live soon. The one's listed above are the first to go live across Thanet, the other thats are scheduled will follow soon - see my map, link in signature, all the green ones have their FTTC cabinets installed.

You may not be on NDTHA 45, it's not always the closest, if you post your post code I'll have a look and see which cabinet your on.
