At some point All pay will have to increase the speed and keep prices to a level at that speed that keeps them competitive, other wise when fibre is up and running they will lose customers.

I know that they are not competing in the same market as fibre at the moment, but in time fibre will be in places like Credenhill.

i know I have only had All Pay since Thursday, so long term I don't know how reliable it is, but i think for me at this moment I have made the right choice, what will happen in two years time is another thing.

The one problem I have with FTTC is that the cables are getting old, would they cope with the speed of fibre and even if they do for a while, will they continue to?

Over different forums I have seen people having different problems with Fibre, with slow speeds, Bt line management, which don't seem to be much better with Fibre than it was with ADSL and unless you go with the larger ISps like Bt, Sky and Talk Talk, there seems to be limits on data use.

Full fibre is not going to happen around here for many years., Bt will put full fibre where they are going to make the most money from it and it certainly will not be here. i am shocked Bt knows where Hereford is

How far did you say you lived from the cabinet?

All pay may say they are staying at 10 megabit at the moment, but they may change at some point, as i said they may have to if Bt puts FTTC further out.

How long you been with All pay? I got little choice now I got to stay with all pay for 2 years unless their service gets very bad and then I would have a case to leave.

10 megabits will do me to be honest, but everyone is different i suppose.

I spotted some Openreach vans today at the end of Ledbury Road (near the bottom of Aylestone Hill, by the memorial cross at the traffic lights) and they were definitely running some cables - it's a positive sign!! I can't wait to get fibre here, I used to live in the new apartments by the police station and we got 14.5mbps there on the ADSL24 LLU "Up to 24mbps" service but Ive since moved to Tupsley and we get 1.9mbps here frown BT Infinity site estimates 45mbps with FTTC, maybe I will be able to start downloading 1080p HD films again without having to wait days to watch them! laugh
