Not sure myself and didn't think about it when posting. Happy to take advice from someone with knowledge in this area.

Well it's achieved its purpose here anyway, as we have established it an early one. Easiest to delete the complete post while you can .

The box it comes in will have a large 3B on the labels at either end.

Openreach been and gone, what a top bloke too.

I have the 3B up and running, the engineer is requesting a full reset (Forget the term he used) which should begin to take place in the next hour or so.

To the OP, the PSU with this new 3B is white (and also much beefier) where as my original one was black if that helps at all.

The replacement PSU I received was also white.

I'm sure all the replacement PSUs are white, the issue always was that many OR engineers did not replace the PSU when replacing the modem, or did not have the new PSUs anyway.

The version 3B I bought off ebay came with a black PSU.

I can't say I am entirely surprised by that!

Is it likely to be problematic? It's rated at 12v 0.7 amps

I don't believe so - the white ones are rated 1A but there have been repeated assurances that the black ones are adequate.
