Same pattern, non-central cabinets being delayed.....
Looking forward to a speed increase!

That's nothing, we still have 5 cabinets in Saddleworth that Openreach physically installed a YEAR ago (last July!) and they have not yet gone live!

NDTHA36 is now live and my order has been placed with Sky, installation date is 2nd August.

Just for reference, NDTHA36 took 6 days from displaying the first speed estimate and date to actually going live.

Thank you. I'm checking each cabinet daily with the BT checker and trying to keep a record of times so that's very helpful. It's good to see that someone like me with a low speed is about to get a big improvement. Hope it goes well.

In reply to a post by Anonymous: NDTHA36 is now live and my order has been placed with Sky, installation date is 2nd August.
A word of warning, mine is due for install tomorrow morning with Sky and still no router and will take another 5-10 days before I get it. Even though I phoned twice to check it would be with me and was assured it would be. Not happy obviously. And of course, because Sky lock you into their router there is nothing I can do.

Will Sky not supply a PPP username and password if you call support? You could then connect the Openreach modem direct to a PC and set up a PPPoE connection.

I did ask them about that and they said no, they had no way of doing that. Do you think it would be possible then?

Don't see why not. Although I think they may use MER encapsulation now rather than PPP? If that is the case any router that supports MER should work without any extra config.

Thanks for your help again James, but that's gone whoosh over my head.
I take it I would need to buy a router that supports MER which wouldn't be cheap and take a few days to be delivered. Then I suppose there would be no guarantee Sky would give me a login/password
