Allpay are a lot more expensive overall though for slower speed. Sure they're great if you have no other options, but I'd wait for fibre, personally.

But you don't need a fixedhone line!

Younger generation don't use them do they!

Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download
BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload ON THE LINE THAT SKY COULD ONLY PROVIDE 15,255 DOWN AND 800 UP ON!!!,
Moved house, now BE Unlimited 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
FTTC Cab installation commenced 12th April - expect full 80 / 20 - bye bye BE, hello BT Infinity soon!

Depends on what you mean by expensive and where you are. with the ISp i was with before All pay i was paying over £19 a month for a 3megabit service at best, not the fault of the ISp, just the way ADSL works. i now get a 5 megabit service for less, i can update that to 10 megabit for another tenner a month.

Also don't forget I am now not paying £12-£14 a month on top for a phone line and phone service that I hardly use.

Sure I could have waited for fibre and with the ISp i could stay at the same price of just under £20 a month, but their service only have a 15Gb usage in peak times, to get more usage I would have to pay more and I would still have to pay for a phone line on top.

Ok if I went for sky, Bt or the dreaded Talk Talk I could it a bit cheaper , but again I would still be paying more than I am paying with All pay because I would still be paying for a phone service.

Also not being funny, but why do I need 40 Mb/s for? i bet a lot of people who get fibre will never use it full bandwidth, it is fine if you got a family with multiple computers and devices, but most people don't need 40 mb/s

We will see how well they do, but as been said before, Bt is having a hard time in some places getting people onto fibre as they are happy with what they got.

I am not saying i will never go for fibre, you never know what happens in the future, I got a 2 year contract with all pay, which i was a bit worried about, but two years will go quick, i never realised I was with my last ISp for over 2 years.

The other reason why I don't want fibre at the moment is because I like the idea of being away from Bt network, be it phone or broadband, I hate Bt with a vengeance and the thought of paying them money directly or indirectly fills me with horror.
Talk Talk is no better either, both are useless.

Up to 17 Cabs now, a little over 20% of the planned roll-out for Hereford. There are probably more no one has noticed yet too.

We may all have a moan about Openreach/BT from time to time, but that's pretty good going considering 3 weeks ago we were disappointed nothing had happened.
