Yes, I know. I've been there several times but there seems to be no FTTC cabinet, just the PCP. I'll check again...
Looking forward to a speed increase!

I've been again to check. There is still no FTTC cabinet anywhere near NDTHA17. I can only imagine that it's a data error that some (but not all) addresses apparently attached to NDTHA17 are giving FTTC speed estimates.
Looking forward to a speed increase!

this is what its saying for the green lane 1 in st peters
Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 30th September 2012. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 66 Mbps and upstream line speed of 20 Mbps.
so progress is being made i guess

On current form, that probably means it will be live within 2 weeks. However, I've just checked the first 10 addresses in Green Lane and none are giving speed estimates. On the other hand, the postcode checker, which is less accurate, does give a speed estimate. So it's anybody's guess.
Another 3 cabinets in Margate are now giving speed estimates - NDTHA11, NDTHA32 & NDTHA39.
Looking forward to a speed increase!

How did your installation go?
Installation went fine, BT Openreach guy very good. He said I would get 40/2 at the moment and 80/20 if I went for Pro.
Router from Sky only arrived today so just checked the stats.
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 35716 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 2000 kbps
I'm disappointed only getting 2Mb upload as I thought Sky had gone to 10Mb and that was the reason I didn't go with BT.
Accessing the Sky router web page is so slow, even slower than the ADSL one and that was very slow.

It will probably change to 10 up in a day or few, the fibre unlimited is always provisioned at 2 up. Mind you that download connection speed is a bit low even for a new 40/2 provision especially if the OR guy said your line would support 80/20, I would have expected at least 39995/2000 which is what my line connected at initially. My line will support around 75/20.
Accessing the web interface on my router is very fast, click on a link and it changes almost immediately. There new firmware being rolled out for the fibre routers but I'm not sure if it fixes the slow interface on "slow" routers.

Well that didn't.last long. 4 hours and now nothing. Sky run some tests and have given the problem to Openreach.
Tetheredto my playbook to post this.

With that SYNC you won't get much better on the 80/20 service as if your line was capable of more it should be connected at 39999 or 40000. With it being lower than this it means that's all you can eek out the line.

No more cabinets are indicating that they are about to go live in Margate. However, the BT Broadband Checker is giving some strange results. Without exception, using the Postcode Checker, every postcode for a non-live cabinet which is scheduled for FTTC is giving a speed estimate and a planned date of 30th September. The ones that have gone live generally indicate that it isn't available! I did find one that was live that was only giving a speed estimate. Sometimes the Address Checker says that different parts of the same building will or won't have FTTC. As they say, only the Telephone Number Checker can be replied upon....
Looking forward to a speed increase!

Ignore the postcode checker, it is not basing it on the postcode but the exchange. So it will always say FTTC is available when you check using the postcode checker even though its not coming to that cabinet.
The address checker and/or telephone number checker is the only one you can rely upon.
