Right, I see. Slightly mixed up in my terminology then. You've slightly misunderstood what GEA is.
http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/products/super-... is what I was referring to.
I'm surprised Sky is offering their unshaped/unlimited fibre service over BTw's bandwidth pricing. Am I right at looking at the BTw pricelist that it's £40mbit/month? 5 or so really heavy users could cost £1000+/month in bandwidth. Doesn't seem very sustainable at all...
As well as Sky and TalkTalk, BT Wholesale also use GEA, hence why all ISPs non-LLU ISPs "use" GEA, which is what someone said earlier.
GEA is the Openreach link from the premises to the cabinet and thence to the FTTC head-end exchange. Sky and TT do nor use BT Wholesale for fibre. They take it straight off Openreach.
So for a small exchange where the GEA feed goes to a different exchange, Sky/TT need to be LLU'ed at that different exchange and have to purchase a GEA link there.
