Re: FTTC in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs

I presume that's BT logic - the Postcode Checker isn't based on postcodes! Anyway, the address checker is a bit suspect as it is showing availability to only some parts of a small building e.g. 1 Westbrook Avenue in CT9 5HA. This contains "1 Westbrook Avenue" (no FTTC indication), "Upper Fl" (no FTTC indication), then "Lower Flat" and "Upper Flat", both of which have a scheduled date and speed for FTTC. Rather confusing .....

I don't think Broadstairs exchange has gone live yet, it's still shown on BT's map as "Coming Soon" with a forecast date of September, but we know how useless those dates are frown.
Hope it's nice in Turkey. Summer has finally arrived here!

Yes! Finally getting a speed estimate for my number:

Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 30th September 2012. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 57Mbps and upstream line speed of 20Mbps.

Good to hear they have been busy laying fibre in Broadstairs, also good to hear that summer has arrived in Thanet. We're due back tomorrow, it's been really nice two weeks in Icmeler Turkey with temperatures around 35/40 in the day time so it's going to feel cold when we get back. I'll get the map updated Wednesday sometime with all the new info and also check Broadstairs and Ramsgate cabinets.

Good to hear it's OK in Turkey. We went to Icmeler not long ago. Nice place but a long way from the airports.
Anyway, glad you're getting a speed estimate, although Broadstairs exchange still isn't live. I get the feeling that they may surprise us by suddenly enabling the exchange and all the cabinets together - or maybe not!
I'm still waiting, although some houses in my road are getting an estimate using the address checker, so I'm hoping it will be soon.

Still getting speed estimate for my number smile

Just checked my old house in Church Road Ramsgate (NDRAM 37) and that is live, can't remember any others - waiting for the wife and daughters to get their hair done.
