If they are running fibre from the premises to the edge of the farm, surely also running a mains cable is easy?
That's an option, yes. May not be cheaper.

Ive made some enquiries and found out you can have an unmetered electrcity supply from the electricity board so long as the power consumption is under 500 watts.

Seems this is the first thing to enquuire about. Would only need to power the openreach modem and a router.

you could have the router at the farm, use a media converter to connect the ethernet over the fibre to the OR modem.
