XboxEdd, I've replied to your PM, you should have a little flashing envelope at the top of the page, you won't get an email notification unless you change the settings.

I followed the example of a couple of you and emailed openreach about my cabinet NDRAM 17 - so this may fill in a gap on your list and be of interest to anyone else on the cab.

The reply was :

"As you state, you are connected to cab ND/RAM17.
We are currently experiencing problems with the provision of the fibre optic cable to this cabinet.
This is due to the blockage and collapse of the underground ducts. We are currently working on these problems.
We currently have a go live for your cabinet of the end of Sept '12. (However, please be aware this could slip, dependant on progress with dealing with the blockages)."

Thanks for the info Daemos.

Just had mine connected, first person on NDBRO 18 smile

Sync is not quite as fast as I hoped for, estimate was 57/20 and I'm synced at 55/14, still very good but was hoping to get higher than the BT estimate. I'm about 450 meters from the cabinet. Unfortunately the engineer didn't have JDSU, just an X something, which didn't show much info apart from the speed profile.

Just need PN to change the profile as currently on a 40/2 profile

XboxEdd, I asked the engineer if he'd done any installs on NDTHA 18, he knew where it was and said he'd done two, so there shouldn't be any problems with it.

Change the flat modem cable for a Cat 5 one. I gained 5Mbps just by doing that.

Are they rolling out ECI kit round your way?

Thanks, already using a twisted pair modem cable - had to stop the engineer swapping it to the standard cable smile

Meant to say, he left me with a nice shiny new EchoLife HG612, so got me eBay special and a new spare one smile

I was left with an ECI. frown So it was on to Ebay and picked up a Huawei HG612 3B for £20.

As has been reported on various forums the Huawei syncs faster than the ECI, in my case about 8Mbps faster.

Thanks for the update on nbro21 (botany road) even if it's bad news, it shocks me that they are not enabling a cabanit than serves over 200 houses!

Pointed out to me it is long and is difficult for those who use threaded mode, so closing.

Suggest a Part Two with a link to this thread.

Closed.
