Unless a user is a big downloader the shaping they apply on the new fibre accounts is very minimal.

What I said was if plusnet manages their FTTC like they manage their ADSl service they would only have a quarter of the speed. i never said they do handle their FTTC service the same way.

Plusnet have always had a bad name for the traffic management and even if someone downloads a lot it should not make any difference. if they use torrents or P2P then I can understand, but not normal downloading.

What happens if they stream a lot of HD content?

When Plusnet took over Metronet who I was with, I transferred pretty quick from them I can tell you, even if it was to AOL at the time.

Seeing the trouble a mate of mine have been having with Mad as a fish over the last few months, which is owned by Plusnet i think I would leave well alone, anyway it is just Bt with another name.

Please stop going on about allpay, this is a FTTC thread, discuss allpay in an appropriate thread. We know you've picked allpay and are happy with them, but this isn't helping people who are trying to discuss FTTC, and you've repeated yourself so many times.

Sorry, it just sometimes comes in with the conversation. Talking of FTTC a neighbours order have been refused again, and yet according to the BT website it say he can get FTTC.

I saw a BTInfinity van at the bottom of Belmont, did a quick google and ended up here.

Does this mean we can finally get 35 mb up at Belmont?

I just did a quick check on the Infinity site and it seems to confirms 30th September .

Does this also in theory mean we can get the other fast services like Virgin and Sky or just BT infinity?

What's the process for signing up, do we wait until the 30th and then ring BT?

You can get sky, talktalk and bt. Keep checking everyday and when its says its available ring up your provider and place an order.

BT Infinity vans do not exist.

Openreach FIbre is coming livery vans do exist, but they still go out and do other work.

Openreach fibre service is available at wholesale level to many providers, Infinity is just the one you know of due to TV adverts

I liked their phone, broadband , tv packages, but Sky would be ok I guess.
