In reply to a post by CFM:
Is there any reason folks in Hereford are going for BT over Sky?

I've just double checked and speed is the same, Sky has no FUS, and its £6 cheaper a month.

What makes Infinity the better option, the better free wifi hotspots?

Because it is Hereford and people here seems to think that Bt are the only ISp available or they are just stuck in their ways, which is typical of Hereford.

if I was going for a large ISp i would go for sky, May not be as cheap as Bt, but at least their customer service is a bit better and they just don't follow scripts.

people want to get as fast as they can and Bt does the fastest speed they can get at one price and don't have a different price for different speeds. they do have a different price for different packages which gives you a choice of different amounts of data you can access and also different phone packages.

i would only go for a larger ISp like Sky if money was the issue, if i was going for fibre and money was ok then I would go for something like ADSL24. i was with them for ADSl before i changed to the service I get now and they was ok,

Really gutted- I have just checked again for my line, I'm on PCP83, and it now says January 2013!!!

What is really annoying is that the new FTTC cabinet attached to it is buzzing away quite merrily!

So similar for us both; I'm with TalkTalk, and they seem to quote the next month. I checked a neighbour's (BT) and it shows Dec 31.

Question to forum; so even if the new cabinet is buzzing, why is there then a delay to the next quarter??

"
Jon and I are working on a specific update for your cabinet . When cabinets are in delay we currently add 3 months to the delivery timescale as the feed to broadband checkers cannot be cabinet specific at this time.

Our updates can be cabinet specific though, and the Openreach website is as well as custodians of the physical network : www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when . Sorry for the wait and we will be back with you asap."
