Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.0/13.9Mbps @ 600m.

Is it likely they will replace this?
The wire from the line at the back of the house to the front where this connector is Is like speaker/bell wire.
Would the engineer change that to?

Only if it is causing a fault.
*Maybe* if where you require the VDSL service means it would be easier for the engineer to pick up the line before it comes through the wire you are questioning ....

The wire im mentioning is on the eve of the property, where it comes off the main line from the telegraph pole...
its strange :/

Are you and he talking about the same thing?

I reckon he is talking about the box in your second picture, which has lightning protection. Worth keeping in my opinion smile.

So the wire coming in from the eaves looks like 'bell wire' ?

Most likely old 'dropwire 3' Not a problem, as such.

Yeah it's strange.
Black cable coming from the pole, this bell wire/speaker wire twists around it , then one end goes into a connection box, as does the black wire.
Then, the bell wire cable has been extended, and crimped onto another bit of it!
Where as next doors is just black cable all the way down!
