Re: Errors on my VDSL line, should I be getting higher speed

I have a long-standing very clean d-side connection, since it was re-wired from the pole, plus new wire along the front of the house from where the dropwire is attached, and through the wall direct into an NTE5 new at the same time.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 57.4/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Me too.

Mine was replaced last November. One continuous drop wire from pole-top DP to master socket.

I'm so far from the cabinet though that I can't max out a 40Mb connection & thus really do notice subtle changes in conditions that would normally be masked by a connection that can max out 40/2, 40/10 or 80/20 connections.

e.g. the increase in DS band plan tones from a max of 3939 to 3959 around April 2012 appeared to have a slight negative effect upon my connection's DS speeds (even though I can't actually make use of the higher frequency DS/US bands.

I haven't previously seen such high US speeds & low DS speeds as the first post in this thread though (& I have looked at quite a few connection stats since asbokid first developed the unlocking firmware wink ).

My best connection speeds were at the time of the 8C profile - where everything available at that time (40Mb DS) was squeezed into the lower frequency tones.

Here's mine, but Bald_Eagles seen these quite often, I'm on a 450 meter line and only get 42 meg down. My line attenuation is a lot higher than the op's

The thing that stands out to me is the differences in downstream power levels.

I'm not sure if the difference is related to the way in which each cabinet is calibrated so as to not interfere with local ADSL/2+ signals coming from the exchange (which limits power at ADSL frequencies), or if it a PBO (power back-off) because of interference in high take-up areas.
