Thanks. I contacted BT and they told me the cab will be live in November.

I got home last night to find the pavement being dug up around the exiting cabinet - so progress is visible smile

I noticed the new cab in place today, I hope its the same one that does Scylla Drive? does all the cabs have to be installed before we get fibre?

And my cabinet (45) went live overnight apparently - just ordered Infinity. Sky still showing unavailable.

It was only about 3 - 4 weeks ago that Carillion were digging up the pavement and installing the cabinet. By all accounts that's pretty good going.

ayeaye, what date have you been given for activation, and what speed are you likely to get? I am off the same cab (45) have an activation date for the 15th Nov checker says I should get 58.3mb down 20mb up.

Activation provisionally 16th November, but as my current ISP is taking the full 5 days to provide a MAC, which should be tomorrow, I expect that to slip. Speed estimate is 52.5 and 13.5 - up the top end of Charleston (near to the play area and sub-station), around 500m from the cabinet assuming the copper follows the route through the estate.

A big change from the 1.5 - 2.2Mb connection at present.

I live in Cove and according to the BT Infinity checker, for my telephone number my scheduled date is 31-Dec-12. Are you all using the same method to receive your estimated dates? Or can I get more specific dates anywhere? I tried phoning but all they had access to was the same information, the online checker provides. I remember it was originally scheduled for the end of September but has since been delayed. Any help or input is much appreciated.

Cheers,

It depends on when your cabinet is due to be / was installed. From the cabinet I'm connected to going in to being able to order was about 3 - 4 weeks, the checker didn't update the date from end of December before it changed and stated that FTTC was available.

I would say given the amount of work that's been going on in Cove and new cabinets popping up, you'd be unlucky if it was end of December before you could order.

Once I finally got my MAC (on the 5 day limit) from existing ISP, my revised date for BT was 26th November. Did wonder why it was so far out from the original date of the 16th so this maybe explains it.
