There has been lots of mention in the forums and in the News Articles on the Main Site of at least two major recruitment drives by Openreach, basically pulling in ex-servicemen with telecomms training. Also covered in the BT Group press releases that Andrew links to in the News Articles.
Plus many posts here about the minimal training these recruits have had in FTTC installing, and the botched jobs they tend to make as a result.

I'd be asking them to expedite that FoC - it's their fault, not yours.

yep but is it enough? doesnt seem to be if people are still waiting many weeks and then getting ousourced engineers.

And then sack them all when the rollout is complete? That might be difficult.

Not if they laid them off, they don't have to find a reason to dismiss staff, Just push them gently instead, Once they become surplus to demand, then they will see their hours cut,(which cuts pay too) and even simply laid off, they maybe employed on a short term contract anyway

Another barrack-room lawyer. Amoral to boot!
Have you ever heard of "Constructive dismissal"?

As things stand openreach is not likely to be downsizing this side of 2015, and work will continue into 2017 as many projects have longer term goals to meet too.
The complaints are currently about the same as when the old openreach engineers started FTTC, in short as experience builds people get better.
Anyone looking at redundancy and the prospect of a couple of relatively stable years would most likely be happy at this time.
