I'm in Charleston pretty close to the cab on Cove Road.

My installation is scheduled for 16th November and hasn't been moved by BT (yet).

Is the date updating if you track the order on the BT website?

Mine's still showing 26th November and not had any calls (yet).

It did.

BT called about 1330 to tell me they would disconnect the line; turned up; fiddled with the master socket, installed the OpenReach modem; connected it to the Home Hub; tested it from a browser; and left by 1415.

All very painless.

And after 2,978 days of dreadful ~2M ADSL, I am getting ~70M down and 15M up (as measured by speedtester.net).

Very happy.

Good stuff - least we know the cabinet's up and running properly laugh

1 week to go for me, couldn't come soon enough. My Sky ADSL decided to start connecting/disconnecting every few minutes on Saturday evening, the 2nd line (non-Sky) has remained stable though which is good since it's that one that's getting transferred across to Infinity next week.

Can anyone on this thread tell me: how long between cabinet install and being able to order? I dont think the Kincorth cabinets have been installed for that long so it would seem to be a relatively short time between install and order.

I'm hoping its the same for me. I'm on the Lochnagar exchange and the cabinet install appeared to be completed around a week ago. Not sure if its got power or not yet because theres always too much road traffic noise to hear properly. I assume they are not particularly loud and it needs to be fairly quiet to hear the fans?

It can be anything from 1-3 weeks once all work is finished on the cabinet before it will accept orders or it work is still to be done ie power/fibre they delay can be longer 3-6months.

The best way to know is to put your BT number into the wholesale asdl checker it will tell you when you can order a FTTC service, do this once a week etc.
