Thanks smile

I haven't followed them, but things must have moved on.From your closing comment I get the feeling taking WLR sounds the better option.

Yep, WLR or MPF is a plan. There's not a lot of price difference and Openreach get their cash one way or another, here's the annual rental prices with and without a line rental product:

Up to 330Mbit/s / 20Mbit/s "Transition product" (including Simultaneous Provide) £295.32

Up to 330Mbit/s / 20Mbit/s £396.00

Suffice to say this will change when the derogations Openreach have on NGA pricing expire.

THe rental is for the line not the phone. To get FTTP you need a line so you will have to pay a line rental. It is possible they may charge a different rental for just a Fibre line. but there will be a rental charge. It covers the cost of maintaince and support for the line as well as billing costs

I think the guy was asking about a voice line Bob.

If something went wrong with the line. Would you be willing to pay for the line to be fixed? Surely that what line rental helps partly pay for.

It is possible some ISP's might inncorporate the line rental charge into the monthly Broadband charge rather than charge out seperatly for it.

I would imagine all ISPs would in this instance given Openreach don't charge them separately for 'line rental' on FTTP but a single price for delivering FTTP over GEA.

Thread title says 'phone line'. Not the same as the rental cost for FTTP on demand.
