Which post code checker did you use that has up to date information to qualify that reply?

Can somebody check M336DA ?

The exchange was enabled a long while ago, and I'm almost spitting distance from the exchange.

"Please" tongue.

Bad news I'm afraid. Too close!

It's an "Exchange-only (EO)" area. You don't have a cabinet.

What will be done about such as yours isn't yet decided. For some, Openreach may install a cabinet, others get FTTP, maybe others hard luck. It doesn't seem to be top of the priority list.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.0/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Yes - sorry, very rude of me! I'm normally more polite honestly...

Weird thing is; we do have a green cabinet right outside our building....not sure what it is though exactly; might not be a proper cab.

Don't think FTTP will happen unless it was forced, as it's an apartment so would mean external cabling.

Probably Hard Luck I'm guessing; currently 19.8mb sync isn't bad but I'd jump at the chance to have fibre.

Ack well, thanks for checking

'Twas only tongue-in-cheek smile.

Re the cabinet, have a look through these pics.

At least you have decent speed. Think of the poor blighters a long way from the exchange who either aren't getting FTTC/P as non-viable, or there are some EO ones even there as well. That last is a double-whammy.

I thought so! But my Mum would still kill me for not saying please (even if I'm in my 30's now!)

I'll take a look tonight; thinking it might be a C&W/Virgin cab now. We have Cable in the street but when they built the apartments 6 years ago they decided not to run cable to them for some reason...

Yeah - I can't complain too much. Just spoilt with Infinity at work!

That's not reliable for checking whether a cabinet is planned or not, I've checked plenty of cabinets on a regular basis and it took a long time for some to show a place holder date/mention FTTC . In fact one I checked last weekend does not mention FTTC although the cab has been in for many months, and it was showing an estimate previously. This sometimes seems to happen just before they go live.

BT wholesale's.

While I appreciate you trying to help, I did mention that I'd tried the BT Wholesale checker in my original post.

Any chance someone with access to more recent cabinet info could check (B5 5JN), as the leaked December 2011 list that's floating around doesn't even have my postcode, most likely due to the building being being new build etc.
