Alter cabinet for FTTP?

So what work do Openreach need to do to a cabinet to make it ready for FTTP

I'm not talking about FTTPoD, or a FTTC.

My ISP has said that Openreach have said my FTTP order is delayed becuase the cabinet needs to be upgraded.

I'm thinking that FTTP has got nothing to do with cabinets & someone is not being truthful
Am I wrong?

Correct nothing to do with the cabinet, more likely the fibre run from the aggregation node (which is usually near the cabinet) needs some work.

so, I've gone from available to order 160Mbps, (back at the end of October) to "unavailable"

reason given is that the cabinet needs upgrading.

I've noticed that they sometimes use the term "cabinet" to refer to the area covered by it. In our case the fttp PON covers the same geographical area as EAMAD cab 4. Two of us have had emails in the last week - one saying hoping to open for orders early March, mine (received today) says mid-April (they were saying much the same this time last year!)
