Fibre installation

Hi guys, Tom afternoon I am getting fibre installed (sky). My query is this. My tv is on opposite side of room to telephone socket. Can the engineer fit the openreach modem next to the master socket and run cabling to the sky hub over by the tv? I want a wired conne goin to the sky box and my Xbox.

No but the Openreach engineer and fit a data extension.
This means the Openreach Vdsl modem it plugged in side your tv.

So does that plug into the filter and then I have two boxes by the tv?

No the socket is already filtered.
You will have a Vdsl socket in place of your master socket, a cable will run from this to the data socket and then the dsl cable from it to the Openreach modem and Ethernet from it to the Sky Hub.

So am I right in thinking a secondary socket is fitted next to the master? (Data socket)

No.
Your master socket will be changed for the new Vdsl socket.
A second data socket will be fitted by your tv.

An so vdsl replaces master, data extension to other side of room. Cable to modem then to hub?
