But FTTP will, eventually be the end result, FTTC is just a stop gap and laying the foundations. But alas like you say it is a long way off yet.

I heard FTTC has a 20 year lifespan planned.

Agreed, but the key word is "eventually".

When I had FTTC installed it took one man maybe 20 or 30 minutes (OK, it was a straightforward job in my case).

How many man-hours for even a simple FTTP installation? Multiplied by the number of people who want decent speed broadband.

Perhaps on Tommy45's planet, but not this one tongue
