FTTC- Will 80/40 give increase?

Hi, I am currently with BT FTTC and live quite a long distance from the cabinet. I am currently on BT option
1 with 40/20 infinity. Below is a link to my speeds achieved.

12.9 down and 0.9 up (in case link fails). My question is if I moved to the BT Option 2 with 80/40 FTTC would I see any increase in speed? Or would the fact that I live so far from the cabinet mean I effectively see little or no increase?

Obviously you'd be wasting your money.

You will see absolutely NO increase.

All products, 40/2, 40/10, 80/10, 80/20 use the full bandwidth and tones available in te 17a profile. The hard limit of 40 or 80 is implemented at the DSLAM but does not affect any of the downstream capability.

Out of interest, which modem do you have? If it is a Huawei HF612 have yo unlocked it to find out the Max Achievable rates? 0.9 Up does look a little low and data from a modem will show if it is right or wrong.

Had a hunch I would see no improvement. My modem is Huawei HG612 , note G rather than F. On adsl max up was 0.6 almost constant never higher, now on FTTC 0.9 is the max and constant. I would be interested in any unlock capability didn't know you could. Thanks for the replies.

Just post the details of Max Attainable and SNR here and someone will comment on them. You can, with the link provided, go further and actually analyse your connection a lot more.

BTW it's 40/10 and 80/20, not 40/20 and 80/40.
