Re: Trying to find good FTTC isp options

I signed up to PN FTTC in Feb 12, then in Jan 13 I upgraded to the current unlimited product from what I joined on. Which meant starting a new 18 month term. So I'm obviously happy smile. I've kept my phone with BT, so had to pay the FTTC setup charge.

The big thing that BT have just added to Infinity is BT Sport, which is included free - though I have a suspicion only the first year is free. PlusNet haven't got that, though AIUI anyone can pay BT to get it through their own ISP

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 53.4/16.8Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I've been with Plust Net since 2003, had a couple of problems over the years, only major one was on my brothers line and that was because BT Openreach caused the problems, so not really down to PN.

In genral they've been very good, with UK support and an excellent forum, which always has staff on there.

There's no traffic management, I think P2P might be throttled but only in peak hours 20:00 to 22:00. Traffic is prioritised, but that is a good thing.

One benefit that PN has is it's referral scheme, for every customer you refer you get a discount off your bill all the time the referred person is a customer. In fact they will even pay you if you refer enough customers.

They've only paid for one year so it makes sense...

Not on the current "Unlimited" products. As you say, on the allowance and legacy products.
