Other people's experience?

In general how long after an exchange is enabled and the cabinet is in place does BT take before accepting orders.
Inverness MacDhui exchange is due on 30th June and the old type cabinet supplying my line has the new type FTTC cabinet in place next to it.
If there is a rush to order I don't want to miss out. I have already registered my interest but have not received any confirmation of that interest from BT. I would have assumed that with only 4 days to go, some communication would be forthcoming.
So, what has been the experience of others?

How long is a piece of string? There have been cases of days, weeks, months, years, and never. Generally a few weeks to a couple of months.

If you want the best information use your phone number in this BT Wholesale checker. Watch there for availability for your line to go live, rather than relying on contact from your registration.

If you don't have a number acceptable to that checker, use this address checker. Don't use the postcode checker.

Yeah, as WWWombat says, use the online checker, I registered my interest with BT, and have never received an email, my cab went live last August. Get plenty of junk mail from them now though about infinity.

From when my exhange was enabled to when my cab was enabled it was about 3 months.

My exchange it was about two months between AO and live but the cab had been in place for about 5 months.

I have noticed a glitch in the Broadband Availability Checker.
It used to consistantly say 30th June for my number but it now also says 30th Sep. There is no pattern to which date it gives. It may give 30th June 3 times in a row then the next time it may give 30th Sep. So, I'm none the wiser. I'll get it when I get it.

our cabinet was supposed to go live for fibre back in January then April then July but am now told today April 2014
The way BT operate I'm very surprised anything at all happens all the works have been done I'm told all the streets are ready and yet when asking a open reach engineer what's the hold up he says "i don't know mate and walks off"

Due to complainst to the ASA about dates moving each quater Openreach has either moved everything back by 6 months or till April 2014 which is the end of the commercial rollout.

Their are many openreach enginners and not all are envolved in the FTTC deployment so you will just have to wait for the bt wholesale checker to say your cabinet has gone live- use the number or address checker.
