Re: Effin' DLM!!!

I'm just having a moan is all. My line was giving 67/18 with 8ms ping at first but dropped to 54/11 and 23ms pings due to line noise. I've since had the profile changed and am now getting 61/18 and 16 pings. Plusnet are still looking into the noise issue and the sudden 1.5dB US SNRM drops throughout the day.

I don't know if anything can or will be done on that front I'll just have to wait and see.

Well I hope nobody has to wait as long as I have for DLM to increase their profile. Mine had been locked on 52.27 without budging since 10th May. (Before then it had been around the 65-67 Mark).

Just after midnight yesterday (6th August) my Homehub connection dropped for about 15 minutes. Upon reconnection it has DROPPED the profile to about 48Mbps frown

Shocked at the further reduction, I rebooted the Openreach modem, but was nicely surprised when I found the profile had risen to 56.64.

Now my line sounds much quieter as well so it's possible that they have finally gotten around to sorting out the intermittent noise problem on their own initiative (after denying there was any problem and closing the fault months ago). But if it's not due to that then that's a long time for DLM to do nothing.

Still, a long way to go until i'm back up at February levels.....

Last time my connection got heavily banded and interleaved IIRC it took about 7 months to go completely back to normal, though it did go most of the way in about six weeks.

In any case it can be instantly reset by an engineer visit, not sure how hard it is to get that done these days.
