Thanks Huw.

So it would see that the premise of my complaint is justified. It didn't complain about DL or UL speed per se but that there seemed to be dramatic shifts in UL speed and latency was rubbish.

I will see if my efforts to retro fit the shoddy installation helps.

It would be ideal if you can get some line monitoring in place before you make any alterations.

I recently experienced a drop to about 30-50% of original upload speed on my FTTC BT connection after three months steady. The Tbb speed test showed big fluctuations during the test. The engineer had connected the modem to the GigE port on the Home Hub 3. I tried connecting to one of the other ports and the upload speed instantly restored to its original speed, not sure why it happened but does this help your problem?

The TBB ping monitor would be a start, but you really need to be logging the line stats, see my first post in this thread.
