Re: New Fibre Cabinet in Oakham *Progress Update*

That's good news!

My service has been moved to a cabinet from E/O and according to Openreach:

"Yes your service has been moved onto the new cabinet 25 and is due to be fibre live between Sep Oct 2013"

Fair play to Openreach in that they've been moving at some serious pace to get this all installed. Installing a PCP box, transfering 288 phone lines to the box and then installing the FTTC cab next to it within the space of 6-8 weeks is pretty good going in my mind.

But hooray that I will be able to get fibre soon!

Good to hear. I've not ordered yet. Got to drill some holes and run some cat5e around the house so I can still have my router in another room but still have the VDSL modem at the master socket

The latest I heard from the NGA team regarding Cabinet 25, which I'm also connected to, was that it would be going live in September/October 2013.

I'm hopeful that this is the case, because if I input my telephone number into the BT ADSL Checker, it doesn't mention any FTTC speeds or RFS date for it at all. Just ADSL2+.

Hopefully some more information will come to light soon.

If your BT ADSL Checker didn't put any date for FTTC available soon, u won't get it. Only ADSL2+
