Source they have no plans for 30a?
Source any intention of 30a?

There was something a while ago. IIRC it was ruled out when the vectoring project went ahead.

Imagine the stink if OR come out with 30a when a few million CP non-30a modems have gone into the field!

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

We've had this discussion recently. There's no official "We've no plans for Profile 30a" statement. However:
  • Profile 30a is incompatible with the current ANFP
  • the line cards Openreach are installing in the DSLAMs do not support Profile 30a (different line cards are needed, which, on the Huawei version, have half the port density), and
  • the SIN 498 section 3.2.2 requirements for CP provided equipment requires Profile 17a, vectoring and SRA, but does not require Profile 30a support
It therefore seems unlikely that we will see Profile 30a on the Openreach network soon, if at all.

Here's mine now, at approx 450m:

Text

2
FTTC Range A (Clean)    80      63      20      20      --      Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 71.7    44.1    20      15.4    --      Available

I normally sync at just under 70Mbps.

what they need to do now is add to the checker when phone number used a line check result.

so what plusnet have on their test,.

if crosstalk detected.
bridge tap detected.
remote QPT result.

I am dreaming too much I guess smile

by the way I am doing screenshot incase people think I was making stuff up, I will censor part showing my address tho, the clean has been lowered but the important bit is the fact the NEW impacted estimate is the same as my previous estimate, this to me suggests my line is bridge tapped or something.

NEw Estimate, Impacted same as Old estimate

I wonder which of these four numbers Plusnet (and other ISPs) will use for their estimated speeds. My Plusnet estimate still shows as 54Mb, last checked on 2013-09-26 10:25:05, which was before the recent changes to the checker.

what was your old estimate?

I think thats very important when posting these new.

I may have posted a bit fast with my claims I have an impacted line, if everyone else's impacted matches their old estimate then I am wrong.
