Re: Changes to wholesale checker

Your post caught my eye, so I did another check, and low and behold, the checker shows FTTP available! smile)

CHARLES STREET, NEWLYN, PENZANCE, TR18 5QB on Exchange PENZANCE is served by Cabinet 1

WBC FTTP DLR, Up to 330 ULR, Up to 30 Downtream Range, -- Available

Underneath the info box, the first line is:

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:- Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG Part proven.

Can someone tell me if UG means underground? If so, this would make some sense, as the groundworks were started last January and finished by end of February, but no sign since then of any fibre being blown. (Not that there's any rush to get hold of this service, of course... )

Thanks in advance

Lucky you! I wish I had FTTP instead of FTTC.

I would think almost certainly that UG stood for underground.

Yeah, sorry.

Old estimate 26.3/5.6 (First estimate and order estimate) then over the changers finally dropping to like 20.8/4.

Oh interesting, ours has changed too.

FTTC Range A (Clean) 68.1 50.7 20 14 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 57.4 32.3 20 9.9 -- Available

LOLLLLLL.... I wish. It was only those kind of speeds for the first 2-3 days.
Reality: 47 down 13 up

I guess they've given up on the "conservative estimate" idea.

Here's mine now, at approx 450m:

Text
1
2
FTTC Range A (Clean)    80      63      20      20      --      Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 71.7    44.1    20      15.4    --      Available

I normally sync at just under 70Mbps.

My estimate is identical to this. I used to think I was 400m from the cabinet, but after recently discovering that the phone line exits the back of the building, and goes along a back alley, we might be 20-30 metres less than this.

Our previous estimate was around 55Mbps, while we sync at 80Mbps with little spare capacity.

We did, recently, suffer about 6 weeks of DLM intervention that dropped us to 75Mbps, but I'm not sure why it was turned on or why it was removed - I really ought to update my scripts to cope with the changed firmware!

thanks, also if you curious I did check infinity's checker for my line, it matches my clean low, same as yours.

so basically these new estimates dont match any of your previous estimates? If I am right your previous estimate was very similiar to your clean low? my previous exactly same as my impacted low. But infinity checker now matches my clean low, meaning my estimate has shot up on the retail isp side.

High Low High Low
FTTC Range A (Clean) 28.7 20 6.7 4.9 -- Available
FTTC Range B (Impacted) 23.1 11.2 5.9 2.9 -- Available

BT Infinity 2 Since Dec 2012 - BQM
