Rubbish. Ignore them.
(Plusnet is not alone in propagating this myth, pretty much all ISPs do)

Plusnet also saying to me "Please remember on your installation day, it won't be maximum speed such as 80Meg due to Plusnet IP Profile will catch up within the next 3-5 days to match BT Profile".

That much is possible but it shouldn't take 3-5 days, 12 hours at most and quicker if you give them a nudge.

It's pretty stupid, why can't they set it at 78Mb on the installation date, otherwise BT Engineer might get puzzle himself "Why slow speed?"

However, don't mess about too much in the first 48 hours.
DLM doesn't kick in until the 2nd day, unless severe instability is detected and powering off the modem avoids that.

Sorry for silly question how to do powered off BTO Modem? Switch off at the main socket? Do I need to switch off Modem not the router?

I'm inclined to agree with you there and I think sometimes they do. However the BTOR engineer is not likely to be bothered one way or the other, it's not his/her problem unless it is a managed install.

Yes or just pull the plug out of the modem from the power adapter. You don't need to power off the router unless you want to. But I've forgotten why you want to do all this in the first place!

Just pull the power jack out of the modem - works for me smile Or the switch on the socket.
