Re: Modem questions - and ASUS RT-N16 ?

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

If you reset it to Factory defaults it should go back to as it was after being flashed with the unlocked firmware. That is in bridge mode and should just be plug'n'go.

Either you have messed it up, or it already was so when you bought it.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I reset it to factory defaults again and it did not work, however I have now got it working.

The magic setting was to fill out the atm section vpi vci to 0 38 with vcmux

Then under wan settings leave as ptm, bridged, either bridge type , transparent dhcp and clear out all of the vlan stuff. tfft and thanks all.

Next q, is it necessary to have the firewall on, surely not applicable in bridge mode?

Also I got a speed bump with qos disabled.

Thanks for that.

I've got firmware V1.0.0.12_1.0.12 upwards and never realised that the DGND3700 v1 supported VDSL up to at least firmware V1.0.0.17_1.0.17 which is what I am also running.

Interestingly I see that the Netgear site no longer appears to have V1.0.0.17_1.0.17 available, the most recent version for the UK now apparently being V1.0.0.15_1.0.15

I have my vdsl at home now and the h612 seems to working fine. Well I am synced at the max possible speed available here anyway!

For anyone interested in the vdsl capabilities of the dgnd3700v1 that I have at work here are some stats I pulled from it:
Bear in mind 40/2 is the max speed available here.

Hey there i'm from the IOM also, is there any chance you could help me with my settings? Ideally would like this as a modem and connect my apple airport extreme to it.

asus dsl-n66u does have built in vdsl modem. Nice router best I ever seen. It's a dual band 450Mbps + 450Mbps wifi.

https://mega.co.nz/#F!LdJFDIJL!e_E1twsIg2kTet8mPjrb4w

bt no agent works fine for me.

Reset to factory defaults.

Fill out the atm section vpi vci to 0 38 with vcmux

Under wan settings you just need ptm, bridged, pppoe bridge , transparent dhcp and clear out all of the vlan stuff.

Lave the firewall setting as it disable qos, set you apple to pppoe mode and enter username and password.

I'll do some fresh screen shots later.
