In which case you've nothing really to worry about. (I'm assuming that is a phone or address check, not pure postcode). Unless there is something horribly wrong with your wiring, which seems unlikely from your earlier posts, the worst that should happen would be the lower end of "Impacted".

Well, I've just attempted to order it but apparently BT are telling me I need an engineer out, so I guess I'll be sticking with ADSL for the foreseeable future.

At the moment the self-install is only for Infinity 1, the 40/10 speeds. If you go for that you should be OK.

Sky do self-install FTTC.

Apparently not in all cases!

We were going through the order for Infinity 1 and he said 'For your area I can only offer you an Engineer install'. I'm not sure why.

That would mean switching the phone over to Sky as well.

Besides, if BT's system wouldn't allow a self-install for us on 40/10 I doubt any other ISP would either.

BT's website does state:
* Engineer installation may be required to help optimise your speed. We'll let you know when you're placing your order if this applies to you.

So I guess I'm one of those people.

Yeah, they can do that if they feel an engineer would benefit the installation, due to wiring issues.

I'm pretty sure Sky would give you self-install.
