I haven't ordered a data extension kit, I don't recall being given the option when ordering from the BT site.
It's ordered automatically on BT Infinity engineer installs, just in case it's needed. (Unless that changed when the 40/10 self-install was introduced, as it isn't supplied with that).

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

How easily could the incoming wire be diverted to the study?

There is one other extension coming off the master socket and that goes to the telephone. So we have 1 master socket (unused), 1 extension socket with faceplate (router) and another bog standard extension socket which the phone is plugged into. All three sockets are in the same room. I'll ask the OR engineer if he can move the master socket to where the router currently sits.

That extension unless a VDSL2 faceplate is fitted to the master could kill your VDSL2 speeds.

So master socket needs some work.
