well, im a multi gamer i player amature competitive for money in tournaments but not on the same games, i play on new games for 5-10months until a new competitive games comes out so the servers id be connecting to would be changing every 5-10 months. Just looking for a better routed network. Im guessing (haven't researched it at all) that Plusnet would have a lower customer base than BT infinity, would this make any difference at all (im not entirely sure as i know they all connect via the same cabinet and equipment)

All FTTC ISPs except Sky and TalkTalk rent their backhaul capacity from BT Wholesale, and they rent the capacity they feel they need for their number of customers. So no, the number of customers itself is irrelevant to performance.

Between you and the exchange it is Openreach with them all. BTW, Sky and TalkTalk can specify higher stability settings than standard, which I expect would increase latency, but I don't think they do so normally.

If it was me, making money from gaming, then I'd elect for two connections, one LLU and one on BT Wholesale so that I can pick and choose.

im interleaved with BT, so if i went with sky seeing as they can change stability settings (im guessing interleaved is already the higher stability setting) would they be able to turn interleave off, like fast path? BT say they cannot do this as its automated by DSLM (i think thats what its called)

No. The interleaving on FTTC is the Openreach DLM controlling the link between you and the cabinet. It is automatic and on many lines varies between off and on. Many of us have seen ours switch back and forth.

When it's on it can vary in depth at any time.

ok well if no real difference should occur i may as well just go for the cheapest option from the 3 which i believe is plusnet plus they have UK customer support (unlike BT).

Enough people have upgraded to the better routers that are in the £100 type bracket to see they make a difference

Not cheap at £125, but the next wave of better routers is even more expensive. If you look at combined modem/routers for VDSL2 then similar price bracket.

Don't you like the Home Hub, or is it one that can't be used elsewhere? I thought most could.
