strange how the answers haven't GIVEN any help/support what so ever?
quite the opposite, especially the last one.

certainly not on the initial point made ... ?

is this a 'we love bt' website?

and its called Echolalia, the monkey way of repeating part of what someone has just said.

Your venting your anger and frustrations at the wrong people. If you had actually given your exchange and cabinet number and lost the attitude, then someone who has replied to this thread could tell you how far advanced your cabinet is.

You could have contacted your existing ISP or any other and been told the similar. Alas BT (the ISP) have no more knowledge of the availability than other ISPs.
Having a rant without actually asking anything for any help rarely gets you anywhere.
So which exchange and cabinet are you on. You can get that here, but you may have to use the address checker instead of the phone number.

I simply took exception to your getting all uppity at zom22 for his pointing out that he is in a far worse situation than you.

I live in carlisle, cab 62 has been in place for 8 month now but theres no power to it as the power people dont seem able to get it there. last email i had from the nga team before the address went dead was that they where looking to re-site it. that was 3 month ago and ive been told no bt van has been near it.

theres still area's of carlisle not yet ready but they are still installing cabs, saw a new one being installed up by morrisons not that long ago. yes its fustrateing but the bottom line is that openreach is still working.

there seems to be a few of us from carlisle here, in fact theres a old 2 part thread about the rollout somewhere abouts

in the meantime as ribble suggests put your number in HERE it will tell you your cab number and possibly why the cab isnt ready.

Lastly just because theres a cab down the road doesnt mean your connected to it, if your ever at tesco out at rosehill look on the corner outside, theres 2 cabs on oposite sides of the road, one has a fiber twin the other dont yet both serve that part of warwick road/rosehill

As UKDuck is on TalkTalk he is probably on LLU phone. If he is, the BTW link won't work with his phone number. He would need to use the Address option. But not the Postcode option!

Yep. Mine's been "three months away" for four years now, and they've not done an ounce of work on it yet. It's been delayed so long the 3-year planning permission is going to expire soon.

So, to try and answer some of your points.

BT have presumably hit some sort of snag with the install of your cabinet, could be power, blocked ducts, backhaul, etc, etc. BT are known for not saying much and it is unlikely that anyone you can talk to directly would have any real information about your cabinet. It is frustrating but there is no longer any real path into BT to get this info.

As far as BT trying to get you to sign up. What they would have done would be to sign you up on one of their ADSL products and would have delivered that product. As FTTC became available they would upgrade you to Infinity. All the time on ADSL you would pay their standard rate for ADSL and only pay the extra for fibre when the upgrade actually happened. So, they would be charging the correct amount for a service they were actually delivering. Not quite what you were suggesting.

And as others have said if you want to stay with TalkTalk when/if FTTC arrives then you can as they also sell it. And there are lots of other ISPs that sell FTTC products as well so you will be able to pick from any of them once you get the option available - it is a wholesale product resold by many ISPs.

Hope that helps.
