Testing and verification, maybe?

Could be, but they've not been near the cab for over 6 weeks so it must be remote testing if it's that
Most likely they've just moved on to another area as they can cross this one off as AO, looks great on the stats but it's bad for the customers

Why must it be remote testing? It's just waiting for it to happen - sometime.

remote coz they've ignored it for 6+weeks lol
sometime = some future date when they're finished activating 3 cabs in each superfastcymru exchange and can then go back and finish what they start lol

Superfast cymru now say that more work is required on cab57, can't see what that can possibly be when it was up & humming nearly 6 weeks ago, their engineers haven't been near it since and say it was completely finished at that point. It's crazy that there is nowhere/nobody you can contact to find out what's going on. It's not as if it can have blocked ducts or planning, power issues as all work was done 6 weeks ago. Even got nice new Tarmac all around both cabinets

How have you got this cabinet information? Can someone check what the situation is with cabinet 43? It has also been installed for many weeks and it is apparently still not live!

I think the copper tie cable is still to be done and the electrical certification

Thanks ribble.
It just doesn't make sense
They installed the fttc cab a few feet away from the pcp cab what seems ages ago
They then dug up the path between cabs and installed various cables and left the surface roughly filled in with just chippings etc I would assume they would tie them together at that stage.
A few weeks after that they again dug up the path, further along this time presumably to pick up the power, they were working there for a couple of days and then the pavement was returned to normal and tarmaced. That was 6-8 weeks ago. I spoke to engineers working on another cab and mentioned 57 and was told that one was completed weeks ago, this would tie in with the surfaced being relaid. So why would it be left for nearly 2 months if it was so close to being ready, and why resurface if it needed more work? Even superfast cymru said it only needed t&v and certification. Then changed their mind and said more work was needed. The way they work beggars belief. You'd think it worked like a production line, do job a, then b, then c, then QC then activate. Instead they do job a,go back and forth leave it for months then do job b, then leave it again and never reach job c. It's so frustrating

Adam most info from here, some from superfast cymru and some from chatting with the openreach engineers working nearby

From what I can see very few cabs (3) are live in merthyr and the rest as and when openreach deem fit to do the work. Ribble and MrSaffron seem to know the most about what's going on, perhaps one of them can help with 43, where is it btw?

Well the civils work (digging and duct work) is contracted out. The cabling , copper and fibre , is done by openreach. Once all the duct work and power are done the area can be made good and the cabling can commence. The copper and fibre work are done separately as they require different skills sets and equipment and the teams may not be doing solely NGA work , other business demands may take priority at any time, but they have obligations to meet BDUK delivery timescales
