That roadworks.org website is rather interesting. Never heard of it, thanks!

Unfortunately, it tells me no more than I already know about BT's activities, or lack of, around here frown

Although one of the options for the roadworks.org site says "for the next 12 months" it doesn't mean that it lists all the works that are due to be done in the next 12 months, it just means that the jobs currently down to be done are on there, they can add more at anytime (for instance there was recently one added a few weeks ago that is being done today here).
Unfortunately as RobertoS said even if they do put a cabinet right outside your exchange as you are so far away it's unlikely to benefit you, there are still a number of options they can do though like placing a cabinet much closer to you and connecting you up to that (adding a fibre cab as well) or even making your area an FTTP area, both of these are quite long shots though and will tend to be the last to be rolled out in the area.
Worth keeping an eye on the roadworks site for your area though to see whats going on.

Yes will do, thanks!

roadworks.org is reasonably up to date with what isn't happening around here although there is a reference to an FTTC cabinet being installed about 4.5 miles away in the nearest town (Horncastle) that in fact was installed about a month ago!

OnLincolnshire of lincolnshire.gov.uk are doing their bit to fight our cause but don't hold out much hope due to costs of a copper cabinet, a fibre cabinet and a source of electricity to energise that lot. The latter is a little scarce around here unless you live under an 11Kv line wink

I suspect that HS2 will reach Birmingham before fibre reaches me!! And oh yes, we don't have railways here either shocked Used to....
